This MIT professor gave it away, and we love her for it.

Last year, Mildred S. Dresselhaus was awarded the $1 million Kavli Prize for her pioneering research in nanoscience. This week, the Institute Professor Emerita of Physics and Computer Science and Engineering decided to invest her prize money in an institution she knows quite well: MIT.

A new fund in her name will support women or junior members of the faculty. It’s her way of honoring those who helped her succeed, says Dresselhaus.
